Our History

Wells United Charities has been in existence for well over one hundred years and is an amalgamation of six charities; Revd. Mungo Moray, Christopher Ringer, Ann Tidd, William Branch Elliott, Fuel Allotment and Emma Haycock. 

These six charities were set up for the relief of poverty, particularly supporting young people in education, and the elderly with fuel costs.

During 2019 Wells United Charities was delighted to welcome the Wells and District League of Friends (Registered Charity Number 259709). We are now collectively known as Wells United Charities retaining the Registered Charity Number 236897.
